Top Gun and Bike Flying

Today Tony took me to see Top Gun remastered in the theatre. I have to say it was an adrenaline pumper to see the dog fighting on the big screen. Stacey and her friend joined us and we all got free movie posters at the end. Quite exciting. ; )

Tony also took the training wheels off of Max's bike at his request. However, after a couple of minutes he wanted them back on, only Tony put them on high so that Max has to balance more on his own. After being a little scared, he took off. He will be doing it on his own soon. He was excited every time the training wheels stopped making noise because that meant that neither of them was on the ground and he was on two wheels. "Two wheels", he would shout as he sped through the giant parking lot we visited. He even started getting to be quite the daredevil. The best part was when he would get going really fast and then talk to us and watch us at the same time. We had to remind him to watch what he was doing. There were some near misses. If I had video'd, we almost would have had a funny you tube sensation. Go Max, go!

The Hank, Max and Ryan Adventure,Day 4

A little bit of Wii playing and museum exploring was a fun way to finish up the week.
We love having a membership to local museums. We actually saw something we'd never seen at the Museum of Flight today which was a shocker since we are regulars.
Tony loves WWII airplanes. Here is a B-17 that is visiting the Museum of Flight

Max and Hank had a slight tiff today. It was so little and the first after nearly 4 days together. We just gave them a little time apart and then they were happy again. I'd say they did really well.
Amd then I got to have dinner with some great friends. A great Friday.

The Hank, Max and Ryan Adventure,Day 3

Just as much fun, not as many pictures.
We met up with dear friends at the Tacoma Children's Museum.

They had an painting area where they had these cheap plastic salad spinners. They put a paper plate at the bottom, upside down and you could drizzle paint on it. They you put the lid on and spin it and you make really cool art. I forgot to take a picture, but I'm thinking of getting a salad spinner at a thrift store and doing this.
We then dined on hamburgers and fries and they climbed and slid for a good long while. Then they napped peacefully in the car. The next thing on the agenda was to build an awesome racetrack and play for over an hour.
From April 2011

Then, after dinner, we had an awesome game of "spies". They rode bikes, talked into "walkie talkies", went on missions, etc.

Here's Hank, getting the evil basketball hoop pole. Take that!

If you ever need a good giggle, play spies with 4 year olds. They copied my lame verbage like it was the real thing. I also heard some serious intel such as..."they took our defense--check, check, double check, over and out." hahahahaha I sent them on "missions" to run around the little park several times because...I had promised them that if they had good bedtimes for the last two nights (in separate rooms) then tonight, they could sleep in the same room. I wanted them really tired. ; ) Last night they went to bed with no silliness since they were so tired and both nights they slept through the night. We'll see what happens tonight when they can giggle all night.
9:23 pm They are both still in bed (good listeners) and are telling each other stories. I heard talk of poop, toilet and stinky bum.

The Hank, Max and Ryan Adventure,Day 2

Lots of pictures, lots of fun.
I had to take this picture. They showed me some guns they had made this morning. A baseball bat and a syringe? They are the next MacGyvers.

Hank is such a rhymer. He loves to take things that are said and add rhyming words. I think he should put some beat to it and be a rapper. Tony thinks his rap name could be Small Fry. Maybe even L'il Hanksta.

The Hank, Max and Ryan Adventure Day 1

So really this is just the first night, since Hank came over this evening. We get to have Hank stay with us for a few days and Max has been super excited. He even told me today that he would move over on the pillow so Hank would have room when he is here for the "sleepover". Too cute. Like I would have a 4 year old and an almost 4 year old in the same bed. I'm not a glutton for punishment. But they were of course very excited at the prospect of being together for days so this is the beginning of our adventures.

Ryan was so funny, running to keep up with the big boys.
From April 2011

They were belly laughing, they were having so much fun. They went to bed okay. There was definitely some silliness but after some reminders, trips to the bathroom, more reminders, they fell asleep. The silliness didn't last more than half an hour, so I'll call that good. ; ) We'll see what happens tonight and early tomorrow morning. I'm crossing my fingers for 7:00am! :)

And random, but...I've been spring cleaning and Tony found an old paint balling helmet. Guess who retrieved it from the donation pile?

The Rest of the Hooplah

After church, the boys took a nap because it was going to be a full day. When they woke up from their nap, we got to tell them that the Easter bunny came. Here they are, coming to see their baskets.

And then we shared a fantastic Easter dinner with the Menzie clan. There was a quick trip to a park before a torrential down pour and then an Easter egg hunt in the house.

They had a blast. On the way home Max told us that he was "so sad because he didn't want to leave his friends." We are all tired and happy and rejoicing in the love of our Savior, the gift of the atonement and sharing fun memories with family and friends.
