Happy Family Birthday!

Happy Birthday to this wonderful, crazy family of ours!

Cute Faces

Ryan the Chef

Ryan made our Buche de Noel/Gateau des Rois.  He even put the lego piece in it so someone could find it later.  He learned about separating eggs and soft peaks and stiff peaks.  He is quite the chef.

Dancing the Night Away!

The stars aligned and the New Year's Eve dance that was postponed because of snow was on January 7th.  Ty, Jimmy and Lane all came over, went to the dance together, spent the night and saw Spiderman the next morning.  When I took this picture of them at breakfast, I told them I wanted a picture for the moms and these are the looks that I got, haha.  Teenagers!

Our Good Night Routine

Every night when I tuck Evelyn in, I get a ladder hug and a head hug.  And now, we also blow kisses to each other and catch them at the same time.  I love this girl!

Lunch at the Arcade

With some buses sliding on the ice, schools were canceled for Sumner-Bonney Lake.  Auburn School District was closed Tuesday and Max was off.  Then Wednesday, the rest of us were off.  The Wednesday cancelation was more pre-emptive because of how bad the roads had been and the fact that it was supposed to snow again.   We had fun playing at the arcade with the Hanes.  The Eli and Dillon came over so the kids could have fun.  The roads were mostly slushy by the afternoon, so we weren't worried about the roads anymore

Good Bye to the Snow!

The snow is starting to melt but it isn't gone yet.  I wondered where Tony was during Sunday School class but found out later that he had decided to shovel the sidewalks when he saw an older man walk precariously.  The snow melt wasn't working fast enough.  Such a sweetheart.

After church we through smoke bombs onto the melting lake, just because.  It's pretty cool to see the ice melting.

The Lake is Frozen and the Pipes are Frozen

The hike we had planned for today didn't happen.  We had a pipe break and Tony spent a good part of the day getting it figured out and getting the right part.  Max helped him and the rest of the kids played.  I love watching these two kids together.  The kids spent time outside sledding and even made some snow angels in the snow on top of the frozen lake.  I did some deep cleaning and reservation making which felt good.  Then Tony and I did another run to the store at night for our 14 year old who forgot to tell us sooner that we were assigned to bring gluten-free bread for the sacrament bread tomorrow.  Normal life. :)

New Year's Eve 2020

We rang in the New Year by shooting Roman candles out onto the frozen lake, playing games, watching the Sutton's fireworks, doing sparklers and toasting the New Year!  Love this family of ours!
