Grateful for Growth

I don't have any pictures for last night.  I should have taken a screenshot of the zoom meeting I was in tonight.  ICARE has been watching a series from Austin Channing Brown, Chi Chi Okwu and Jenny Booth Potter.  I have learned so much watching these.  I could talk for hours about all of the processing I've done because of racial justice work, but one question from episode 6 sticks out to me.  Are white women choosing comfort over courage?  And a follow up question to that is how do you make courage compelling?  It's so important to learn and change and grow and advocate in communities.  Choosing comfort over courage shouldn't be an option.

Balloon Animals

So it was a random gift for sure, but it was so fun to give grandma a balloon animal making kit for her birthday so she could have fun with the kids.

How fun are these pics?

Adventures in Houston

Tony drove to Houston to see the U.S.S. Texas BB-35 and the Johnson Space Center.

Working at Grandma and Grandpa's

I love these pictures of teh kids helping grandma and grandpa with their garden and re-seeding parts of the lawn.

Tony's River Walk

Tony shared with me the huge fish he saw along the river walk.

Crazy Night

I heard gunshots the other night.  And the security cameras showed that someone drove by firing shots into the air.

Otter Pop Break

Exploring and then my Luck Shifted

Avi and I went to Bonney Lake and explored the park and walked around the lake.  Avi met four new friends at the dog park.  Then we crossed the bridge, found a lending library, walked the 1.7 miles around the lake and visited the park one more time.  Avi had a great time and it was beautiful.

I was getting ready to pick up a dresser that my friend was gifting to Evelyn.  I moved stuff in the garage to make room for the dresser.  I got Avi into the truck and I started the truck.  Then I pushed the garage remote.  The garage door came down on the lawn mower.  And as I face timed with Tony to  trouble shoot, the wind blew the truck door shut and locked it.  So Dan Tidwell came and helped with the garage door and thanks to USAA roadside assistance, Avi and my keys were rescued.  What a night!

Grandma's Birthday

I'm proud of my kiddos.  They helped us do a fun surprise for grandma.  I left stuff for them to do and they did it.  Grandma got an apple crisp for dessert and some fun gifts.  I got to face time with them to watch.  Max got up early to blow up the balloons and hang up the banner.  Happy birthday Grandma!

Ev in Kindergarten

Here are all the pictures that Ms. Hall sent to us on the seesaw app.  These are Evelyn's fun Kindergarten friends.
