This weekend was a lot of fun! We got to celebrate the wedding of our
favorite photographer who means much much more to us because she's our cousin/friend!
We decided to make an adventure out of the drive to Oregon by stopping at Mt. St. Helens. When it erupted, I had just turned 3 and lived in St. Helens, OR. I don't remember it of course but my family told me they were at church and the sky was dark from all of the ash. It happened on May 18th and I always remember that the eruption happened on Grandpa Bob's birthday.
Here we are watching a short video about the explosion at the
Forest Learning Visitor's Center. Here they're taking a virtual helicopter ride.
Ryan is seeing how much bigger a black bear's paw is to his wee little hand.
Sliding down the "lava tubes".
Boys will be boys
I love checking out local flora even though this one is probably just a weed.
Max decided to climb up rather than just slide down.
And daddy gives him a hand.
A great view
32 years of growth.
With the sun in our eyes.
After our adventure, we traveled along the beautiful Columbia River Gorge to Dufur, OR for the Pre-wedding BBQ. The boys loved the park.
This is a no-warning shot. It was fun to visit with family and friends.
Dufur was a teeny, tiny historic town. Here is their living history museum.
