They learned that a floating bridge is also called a pontoon bridge and that it's held down by cables attached to cement blocks on the bottom of the lake. It takes 7 workers to oversee the workings of the bridge including the drawbridge part. The lake water level rises and lowers 2 feet per year so they are constantly checking the cable tension and lowering it if the water is lower, etc. There is an eagle who has made her neest on the bridge as well as two falcons and turtles are always floating around it. Max loved talking about everything he learned about. It was quite fascinating.
