Ryan and the Otolaryngologist

When a friend mentions Ryan and his "darth vader breathing", you know something's wrong. Well, actually, it started back when Ryan was a snoring baby. Then Tony saw him have a couple of apnea episodes when he went to check on him. Since I have sleep apnea, I'm hoping we can help Ryan now so he doesn't get it. We were able to meet with the Otolaryngologist today (still don't know how to pronounce it). Ryan's pediatrician had said he had HUGE tonsils and made a referral. The ENT (as I like to call him because it's EASIER) said that his tonsils are even touching. We were able to get him scheduled for a Tonsilectomy and Adenoidectomy on May 29th (the day after his 3rd birthday--Happy Birthday, Ryan)! It's not an emergent situation but they're the worst tonsils the ENT has seen in a long time and with the baby coming, it just seems easier to get it done now with only one other child to have to worry about finding care for. We're also going to have them draw blood to see if he has allergies (he's congested a lot which could be the englarged Adenoids or it could be that and allergies--we'll see). So, my baby's going to have surgery and I'm trying to be okay with it. Thankfully, it's a simple day surgery, I know mama's who have had to see their babies go trough a lot worse, but I will be glad when he comes out of the Anesthesia. Hopefully there will be no more darth vader breathing!
