Tony's Surgery and the Tulip Festival

At the beginning of spring break, Tony had surgery on his ankle.  Dr. Reed removed bone spurs that had grown after the injury and past surgeries. Removing them will help him gain more up and down mobility in his ankle/foot.  It's a lot of pain to lessen the pain.

We asked our baby-sitter Danielle to baby-sit because we knew the kids would be comfortable waking up with her there.  Not only did she do a fantastic job watching our kids but she offered to stay later for free and come over the next day for free so I could attend to Tony.  She also made us a casserole.  Her mom said it was completely her own idea.  What a fantastic 15 year old.  She is one in a million.

Tony had to rest a lot to deal with the pain.  He had to take 8 days off of work.  He wants to be better faster than is possible.  I think most people are like that.  At his first post-op appointment, his incision was looking great and he was given the go-ahead to return to work light duty.

The babes had fun watching the fish and exploring in the waiting room.

Since we were in Ballard for the appointment, we decided to take a drive north and go to the Tulip Festival on a weekday when it was less crowded.  The flowers were gorgeous. Tony was great about navigating on his crutches and the kids loved running outside.
