Florida Vacation Part 6---Wildlife Refuge and Manatees

Thanks to Kris, I was finally able to remember the words to this song and then teach them to the kids.  Yes, we still sing it around the house.

We had a fun time exploring the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge.  We saw beautiful Herons and Ibises.

Then we did a scavenger hunt outside.

Spanish moss is eerily pretty.

The boys got these very important, official certificates.

The only sighting of an armadillo our whole trip. ; )

We drove by a recommended spot on the refuge to see Manatees and we were very lucky.  This wasn't anything like my luck (or lack of luck) with sea turtles in Hawaii.

Hello Barbara!

And then we went to Manatee Bay and saw more Manatees.

Then we went to a private beach on the base and found conch shells.  It was so fun. No pictures, just shell collecting, enjoying the water and the beautiful day.

Alan and Rebecca took mom and dad to the Animal kingdom today.  Rebecca's daughter is working there and gave them insider info. :)

Go mom and dad!!!
