Sick!

Our house has been invaded by sickness.  We've washed and cleaned and sanitized and it has still lingered.  We're not used to this.

This pretty much sums up how we've felt.

Check out his bedhead! haha  This pic makes me laugh.  Tony took Max to the doc today.  Ryan fell asleep on the couch at 10am and Jase took a 6 hour nap today.  Then the older boys took an afternoon nap.  I think we're finally getting it out of everybody's systems.
Oh, and if you look at earlier pictures when he's not screaming-mad-hungry, you'll notice tha the does NOT have a uni-brow. lol

Activities to Implement in our Family Life

Pinterest is great, but I don't always review my boards so an idea has to really resonate with me to remember it well.  Well my mind is involved with lots right now so even if an idea resonates, there's a huge chance I'll forget it.  So, here are a few ideas I've seen that I want to implement in our family.  Maybe someone else can enjoy them too.

Here are ways to keep the Sabbath Day Holy.

I love these ideas for a home Missionary Training Center.

Think of the power of our future missionary force if mothers considered their homes as a pre–missionary training center. Then the doctrines of the gospel taught in the MTC would be a review and not a revelation. That is influence; that is power.  Julie Beck  "Mothers Who Know"

I am Super Excited...

There's a lot happening in the Epperson household and one of the current things is that I am helping put out a new blog. I'm really, really excited about this! Awhile back a friend asked me if I would be interested in being a part of a "Sister Swap" facebook page. Basically it's an avenue for women to post pictures and give stuff to someone in the area (who can post on the picture if they want it)--something they would have just donated anyway. Now, someone local can benefit from it. I've posted things and received things. It's awesome! Then I was thinking it would be good to have a facebook group where people can share local sales they've found. A lot of stores advertise, but some don't and some deals aren't seen by all. If I'm at the store and I see something(s) that is a really good deal, I can post about it. It takes me 15 seconds and lots of other people can benefit from knowing where the great deals are. Well then my friend had this idea to have a blog that combines those two features (links to the facebook groups) but gives us an opportunity to share local resources, support local businesses by featuring them and spotlight local women that we can learn from. I've totally oversimplified the explanation so I'll let it speak for itself. Today is the first day. We have all kinds of fun features and giveaways planned. I'm so happy to be a part of something helpful, fun and positive! Click HERE for the link!

Fun Family Home Evening

Thanks to pinterest of course, we had a fun family home evening the other night. We made rice crispie treats and built them into a wall. We read the story of Samuel the Lamanite from the Book of Mormon. Then we built a wall for him to stand on.

8 Years!

Tony and I have known each other for nine years now and we've been married for 8! We had a wonderful anniversary! I'm so lucky to married to such a good man. We've had several dates to celebrate our marriage. We saw Les Miserables in Cali (thank you Tony, that was NOT your first pic), we've gone out to dinner, we've gone shopping together. We were able to celebrate and toast to many more years together. We have many reasons to celebrate our life together and our sweet family.

This is a song for you Tony--although, you're probably not going to like the video--CLOWNS ; p None of the lyrics of these songs are 100%, but you get the idea. I love you!

Our California Christmas Adventure--Wrapping it Up!

Mom and I were able to go to the Sacramento temple. The location of Sacramento temple has always been one of my favorite places, long before a temple was ever built there.
From December 2012
Then we toured Safetyville, a miniature city that is near my house but I haven't been there since I was in third grade. The kids got to learn about bike safety, safely crossing the street, railroad crossings, etc.

We also visited the California Aerospace Museum which was way fun. Alyssa and Margret joined us there with their families. They both have kids Max's age too. It was fun seeing them run around together.

Sunday at one a.m. we said our good-byes at the train station and started the trek home. A tired trooper.

We arrived in Eugene around 2pm on New Year's Eve. We played for a little while with cousins and then drove straight to Renton. This is what the boys looked like when we got home.
From December 2012
They went straight to bed. Normally, I'm the holiday and tradition enthusiast, but for the first time, Tony had to keep me awake to see the ball drop. Then Tony had the energy to get pots and pans and I blearily pounded on them for a minute to bring in the new year. Then we went straight to bed. Even though, we came home and I was slightly overwhelmed at all that is on our plate to do in the different aspects of life, jobs, etc., I was glad for that wonderful getaway, for the family time and for the opportunity to focus on who and what is most important at Christmas time. I'm grateful for a great husband who took me to see Les Mis while we were in Cali for part 1 of our anniversary, who has helped me to take down our Christmas magic at home, because there's a lot. We are truly blessed to have our little family, our home, our jobs. Each new year together makes me feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

Our California Christmas Adventure--Seeing some Sights!

We visited the Jelly Belly factory! Ronald Reagan loved jelly bellies as the governor of California. This is a jelly belly portrait. His favorite was black licorice and he would always have them on Airforce One.
