All in a Night's Sleep!

Our family has made some changes to our sleeping arrangements. First of all, we bought a Memory Foam mattress topper for our bed which is heavenly. Secondly, we used Grandma and Granpa Leach's Christmas money for the boys to buy a bunkbed. We'd been looking and looking and finally found the right one and the right deal on President's Day weekend. They boys were so excited. The best part was that we started Ryan in the big boy bed on a Sunday, no-nap because of church day so he fell asleep fairly quickly. We'll see how naptimes go this week. The new room set-up (just waiting on repainting the white and hanging pictures back up).

NW Aviation Expo

Two weekends in a row viewing everything airplane. My boys are very lucky. It was going to be another flying day too but we'll have to wait for calmer weather (it even snowed the day after (today, Sunday). So the boys went to the NW Aviation Expo with daddy. They received lots of free goodies, basal wood airplanes, etc. They even had people taking pictures of them in their airplane coats. I think they're pretty darn cute myself.

Daddy had the boys for the morning and I got to do some serious grocery shopping (the kind where you can stock up because you're not at the store with 2 boys who take up cart space. I know my life's exciting ; ), but I did go out to lunch with some girlfriends so it wasn't all work. :) Tony and I also got to have a date night and saw This Means War which we both liked. The weekend ended well with church, friends over for dinner and Ryan falling asleep pretty quickly for the first time in his big boy bed. Phew!

Trying Out a New Museum

The boys and I ventured to a different Children's Museum; this time in Bellevue. The boys loved playing with all of the fun exhibits with their friends.
Ryan could have stayed here forever. The water hit the drum making a fun sound.

Baby Joy!

I'm getting really excited to meet our little guy! He is always kicking me and letting me know he is there! I'm 25 weeks! It's gone by (kind of) fast. The boys sometimes kiss my belly and they pray for him. These are some of my cherished moments as a mother. We had a second ultrasound just because the first one was a smidge early and they couldn't see his kidneys and nasal passages with the way he was moving. Now they saw everything and everything looks great! I really need to scan the ultrasound pics. I really can't wait to meet our little angel (and figure out his name)!

The Birthday Weekend!

So Tony turned another year older and wiser too. In our family we try to do birthday weekends. It should never be just a day, right? So the original plan was to take the boys on their first flight with daddy. However, the winds and rain came so we have to save that surprise for another day. Plan B was the Museum of FLight was hosting the 2012 Northwest Scale Modelers show.
Look who we got to meet! I'll admit my inner Star Wars nerd made me feel like a little girl again.

That night we went to our first roller derby. I've never gone to a sporting event and not known what was going to go on, but well, we learned a lot. It was fun! I think the names the girls choose are awesome!

The next day we had Tony's dinner and sang to him. In all the preparations I forgot candles, oops. So, Tony turned 3? But it was a snickerdoodle cake to steer away from the normal cheesecake. His favorite cookie is a snickerdoodle. This morning (his actual birthday) we went furniture shopping and picked out a bunkbed. But he did sleep in and get to spend time with the fam before he went to work. We love Tony!

Another Valentine's Surprise

I forgot to take pictures of our fun Valentine's playgroup so I can't blog about that. Instead, I will blog the exciting news...Ryan went the whole day on Valentine's Day being completely dry. My little man is almost potty-trained. If it weren't for the fact that he goes number two during his nap everyday, he'd be completely potty-trained. I seriously jumped for joy (with many exagerated, excited gestures) when Ryan TOLD me he had to go potty and then went and actually WENT potty. He recognizes when he needs to go! Before he would sit on the potty happily but he didn't really "go" except for a few times. Now he does and he knows when to go. Can you tell I'm excited? Hallelujah! It's always a happy time when potty training happens! Woot!

My Funny Valentine!

We had a fun Valentines day. Tony and I celebrated the Saturday before with a dinner and dance put on by the church. It was fun and definitely good to have some time together. It's crazy how much time we are apart during the week.
Sunday night we put together valentines for the boys to hand out. I had found some valentines that can be folded into paper airplanes. And then we added these little candy airplanes that I saw on pinterest.

Friends and Cars

Our 4-runner needed a few things done that could only be done in a shop, so I took the car down to be worked on by our trusted mechanic friends. In the meantime, we got to play with our good friends. We checked out the new children's Museum in Tacoma which is much better than the previous one, but parking is a nightmare. Eeesh! Here are some pics of the kids at the musuem.

The kids had a blast playing with old friends and then we ended up staying the night at Stacey's because the car required some parts to dry overnight. It was quite the adventure made possible by some very generous friends and family. Thanks Jennica, Stacey and Jenn!

Hey Reptile!

Today the Reptile Man came and visited Max's preschool. Before we left for school, Max said he wanted to bring a book about reptiles. He looked in his bookshelf for a specific book that his Aunt Nicole made for him. He was excited to bring it!
From February 2012

I found out today that my Max is that kid who thinks the presenter is just talking to him. Everytime the Reptile Man said something that related to the kids (i.e. "scales are like our fingernails"), you'd hear a little Max say, "I have fingernails". LOL, oh well. Even better were the few times Max tried to get the Reptile Man's attention. He'd say, "Hey Reptile". Oh, he makes me laugh.
