Weekend Getaway Part 1--Victoria!

Grandma came to town to see the grandkids and to let Tony and I have time away together.  We planned a trip to Victoria and a hike in the Olympic National Park that would be hard with the littles.

We rode into Victoria on a passenger ferry called the Victoria Clipper.  So fun.  Here is an Otter taking off as we rode in.

We loved the beauty of Victoria and the architecture.

I love totem poles.

The Legislature buildings.

Just me and the queen

The beautiful harbor

Tony will always meet up with veterans ; )

Chinatown!  The second oldest on the west coast (San Fran is first).

Fan Tan Alley, a narrow alley with cute little shops.

We had lunch in Chinatown and even the cafe had a black ceiling with little pin holes so it looked like stars.  It was pretty cool.  Also, it was funny to see curling on the TV.

Basition Square on Government Street

I couldn't take pictures in the Christmas Village store but it was dreamy.  It was set up by a German couple and it reminded me of a European Christmas market. :)  So many things in Victoria were dreamy.  That was my word of the weekend.  Like this book store, Munroe's books?  Dreamy!

The Empress.  Dreamy

So many beautiful buildings, fountains.

Beautiful art by the First Nation people

Victoria at night

Emily Carr, a famous artist from Victoria

It's become a thing to play a game of chess on our getaways.

I finally beat Tony.  After 11 years of marriage!  It had to be documented! :)

And a dreamy tudor

A little more sight-seeing, shopping, and trying maple sugars!

It was wonderful!
