Farm Life Part 1

The kids and I took a little trip to Oregon to spend time with my good friend, Jenn.  We were excited for a mini getaway.

On the way down we stopped for breakfast and were able to talk with the nicest gentleman.  He complimented me on my beautiful family and I asked about his U.S. Veteran hat.  He fought in the Korean war as a P-51 Mustang pilot.  Even though it was an older plane, he wanted a prop plane and one that was able to fly swift maneuvers.  The kids loved talking to him and hearing about how he loved being a pilot.  Made us miss Great Grandpa Bob.  Not only that but we also passed Vader, WA where Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Joan would always stop for chocolate pie on their way to the Seattle temple.

The kids were able to have so much fun playing and learning with friends.  Here they are learning about honeycomb and the process of making honey.

The kids had a marble run that was an instant favorite.

Evelyn found a bestie that adored her. :)

The kids were able to feed Yarn and Knitster, the goats.

They were able to see the bees up close, point out the queen bee who had blue on her back and see the honeycomb where there were eggs and the honeycomb where the bees had placed honey and capped it off with wax.

My kids really loved the chickens.  Max and Ryan even held them.  They also loved gathering eggs.  Farm fresh eggs are like none other.

I also got to help make bread and kefir.
