Our little Ryan was congested and coughing so Tony, Max and my parents went to church while Ryan and I stayed home. Max sang with the other primary kids, only this time he hid behind a friend. At least he knew the songs. We made Tony breakfast in bed and a steak dinner since that's his favorite. I forgot to take pictres, but his present was a "ticket" to go on an airplane ride with Max. He is excited to take Max up since he got to do that as a little kid as well. Since I forgot to take pictures on Father's Day, I'll share pics of Tony on the days where he became a father. Max and daddy in the hospital
Max is such a fun kid; we adore him. We celebrated his birthday early so that my parents could fete with us.
I am not a cake decorator, but I was trying to be for Max's airplane-loving sake. The cake kind of fell apart and had to be frosting-glued together. Then, I caught this little swiper on camera.
My friend Tallie had a beautiful baby girl and we had to have a baby shower to celebrate! I love spending time with awesome ladies! Still setting up in this pic. I love Kara's awesome flowers.
My dad worked tons on our soil to get it ready for a garden and then he planted a garden for us. Tony made a grow box as well so we'll have (hopefully) some great veggies this year. I'm going to plant a few more things and then take some pics of the garden space. The kids loved spending time with Grandma and Grandpa and we all loved all of the help they gave us this week!
My parents are here! We went straight to the park after the airport so we could play and be a part of a playgroup. The kids love this park and showing off for Grandma and Grandpa.
So I've been doing this race every year since 2005 (except 2007) and it is definitely the place I'm going to be every second Saturday in June. I've mostly done the 5K except for 2008 when Tony and I did the 12K with little training and it showed, haha. This year I did the 12K again and it is very hilly. Not very exciting pics from the camera phone but here is the before: What am I in for?
And afterwards I was still smiling. It didn't kill me this year (only a little sore in the quads from the steep hills). The hills were hard and I'm not saying I'm the speediest. The hills slowed me down to averaging 16 minute miles, but I'm still proud of myself. I listened to a lot of fast music to keep me going. Here is the song that helped me finish. I like listening to it much better than watching it. ; )
I totally missed the boys' races by seconds, but Tony helped them and took video for me! Here's cutie pie Ryan:
And speedy Max:
Afterwards we went to the waterfront to enjoy some boats and a juggling mime. It was a beautiful family day!
My boys and I are going to the gym every weekday morning (except Wednesday). They get to play and I get to exercise. It's win win. I also try to go somewhere afterwards. However, on Tuesday, they weren't listening to me at Ross so we didn't make it to the park. See, I'm a mean mom. And then yesterday, I took them to an amazing park and we were having a great time until we got to the lake. They walked into the water when I told them not to so we had to go home. I am mean, mean, mean. Even though I know it's good for them and it will only take a few times to get it to sink in, I feel bad.
My Shelf Reliance party was great. I learned even more about the products. I'm going to order the tomato powder and cheese next go around.
There are more pictures added from Ryan's birthday at the Rain Forest Cafe.
When Ryan says the prayer, he'll repeat what you say, one word at a time. Except for this part, "We (we), thank (tank) thee (tee) for (five)..." He's getting really good at counting, bytheway! ; )
Tony did an outstanding job on a project this past quarter. His teacher gave him 100% when it's rare to score so high. He took dimensions from the plans and transferred them to sheets of aluminum, laid out and drilled the rivet holes, and riveted it together. It's a mock airplane control surface to simulate make and repairing an aircraft structure.
Saturday morning was our Relief Society's Retreat of Peace that I helped plan. That took up a lot of my mental energy for awhile and I'm so glad that I had great women to work with. I wish I had pictures, but it was a great time. There was a class on organizing a house of order, one on reflexology and one on pilates/stretching. It was so fun. Afterwards I met up with Tony and the boys at a friends house where we played and relaxed. Yesterday was a fun-filled, sunny day!
The cute birthday boy got to celebrate at the Rain Forest Cafe because he loves frogs so much. We had a blast! Aunt Stacey has more pictures on her camera that we'll have to add later. Here's Cha-Cha, the frog
When you're turning two, there needs to be two parts to your birthday, right? Ryan's birthday was the Saturday we were in southern Oregon and I didn't want to do the full birthday celebration so we modified it and had cupcakes. I still took a ton of pictures because, Ryan is so darned cute! I love his little personality. He can be shy but when he knows you, you see him smile, joke, cuddle, kiss... He is way too much fun! Here it comes
Tony and I have been married 15 years and have 3 sweet boys and one darling girl. We love family time, traveling, exploring, flying and laughing. Tony is an amazing pilot and airplane mechanic and I'm a social worker turned work-from-home mom.
