Halloween 2010

Friday night there was our church's trunk or treat (at our ward/congregation here in Renton)
Tony was at work so I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures--I was herding cats, you see (or my children)

Bienvenue la Cuisine

Max is sick and we're missing the Halloween play group I planned. :( So, instead, I'm going to share what I've done with our kitchen. I also am showing you the before pics because I plan to paint and change the tile on the counters this year.

Dr. Ryan and Gameboy Max

Ryan wears this toy stethoscope all the time. He took a slight break today (I don't think he can find it) but these are pictures from the past two days.

Look out McDreamy (I think that's the right name! haha)

And tonight was board game night. Max said he wanted to be a "game boy" so he was. We played Blokus "Max style" (we have the 2 player version)

and taught Max Checkers. He liked putting my guys in "jail".

Pumpkin Patch and other Random Cuteness

We're going to the pumpkin patch with daddy on the 30th, but we wanted to go beforehand and check out a local pumpkin patch/farm. I liked it because it was simple, but absolutely lovely. It made me want a farm (minus the mud that gets in your car from your muddy feet).
They were posing in front of the chicken resort, but they couldn't keep their eyes off of them. There were even a few turkeys.
From October 2010

We talked about things that are the same and things that are different. And different sizes. Max decided that the tractor tire is indeed bigger than he.

The terrain was a bit rough, but Ryan was determined. He didn't stay vertical for very long at a time, though.

Should we get this pumpkin?

Or maybe that one?

Max also wanted to huff and puff at the 3 little pigs

Our final pick is mid way back on the left.

And, we got a Halloween package from the Montana grandparents and Max was flying the bat card around so when Ryan started doing it later, I had to get a picture to show how much it is loved.

He was flapping it's wings and making little noises--kind of sounded like his airplane noises though ; )
From October 2010

And lastly, I thought I'd had my fill of airplanes after today. Really. Max was on a roll--not listening because he was shooting bad guys with airplanes, talking about airplanes, non-stop, but...then I came out to this: a row of nice airplanes and it all became cute again.

Teacher Mom

Today was my first day teaching preschool. I'll teach for four consecutive weeks and then the third mom in our group will teach. We learned about seasons today, specifically about fall and about rain. We also learned the letter F and the number 5. It was a lot of fun and kept me on my toes. We had circle time where we sang and talked about F and 5 and seasons. We colored a printout about the letter F where they got to try tracing the F. We read "Drippy the Raindrop". Then we took cotton balls and put them in water to discuss how they feel different when wet and how that is like clouds that fill up with rain. Then we squeezed the rain out of our "clouds". Then PLAY TIME! Then we had a snack and our second circle time. We sang more songs and read "The Rainy Day Slug"
From Blogger Pictures
(read this for a total gross out bytheway). Then the kids (well 2 out of 3 wanted to participate) got into (new) garbage bags and had "slug races". Then we had a craft where we glued cotton balls on paper to be our clouds. We used our fingers to stamp blue raindrops and then used glitter to make the water below the cloud. Then PLAY TIME!

These are some of the websites that have been suggested to me for resources. Any more ideas would be awesome. This is way too much fun!

Another Reason Why I Love Being a Mom

One of the things that you just have to get used to as a mom is that things take a lot longer (getting ready to go somewhere, grocery shopping and VACUUMING). The funny thing is neither of my boys is super excited about the vacuum but they react so differently. Max just covers his ears when I'm too close and just keeps on keeping on. Ryan toddles around after me, pretty much getting in my way and toddles closer and closer but then toddles away quickly when he gets "too" close. It's like a comedy routine where he falls down a few times because I've bumped him or he's tripped over his tiny feet.
Just check out his fascination.
From October 2010

So vacuuming takes 20 times longer, but it makes me smile every time. How many people can say that? Check out Ryan's tigger band-aid. He's my little bruiser.

Sunday Family Night

We had such a fun night together. We popped popcorn, snuggled on the couch and watched, "It's a Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
This is the boys wrestling while we popped the corn. Yep, they're to that stage and Ryan IS happy, I promise.

I'm not sure what Max is doing in this picture but he held my hand during the show. It was so cute.

Monica's Baby Shower

Throwing a baby shower is fun, especially when you do it with someone else.
My friend Lilit made a fun cake and a diaper cake. Here's the cute Monica with her cake.

Fairy Tale Town

It's kind of fun visiting a childhood memory with my children. Fairy Tale Town was our last Hurrah in Sacramento. I loved Fairy Tale Town when I was younger and the boys adored it too!
