Navy Submarines, Lavender Farms and Army Forts

We wanted to do the Tour de Lavender this year, but we didn't put in the training miles to get it done.  We want to do it next year.  Instead, on the day we would have been touring, we still went to the peninsula.  We rode the ferry which is always fun.  Jase and Evelyn were excited to get their own table with CUP HOLDERS!

We saw a sign for the Naval Undersea museum and decided to stop off.  It was even free.  We love spontaneous family adventures.  The museum was really interesting for everyone.  We loved learning about the different vessels that have been invented to explore the sea and it was really cool to learn that the Navy has sea lions and dolphins help with underwater mine spotting, object recovery and intruder alert.

Then we went to Purple Haze Lavender (cue Hallelujah chorus)

We took pictures and took in the beauty of the lavender and the secret garden.  We also visited the bunnies, chickens, roosters and peacock.

Then...ice cream!

Then we spent time at the beach at Ford Worden and then exploring the passageways. :)
