Our drive home was full of several mini adventures. We hiked in the Quinault Rain Forest.
We stopped again to see the World's largest Sitka Spruce.
The kids had to explore this ancient relic,
Then we did a little stop off when we were looking for the largest Red Cedar. However, the spot the map took us didn't look like a legitimate spot. The spruce had had signs and a clearly marked path. So Tony got out to go into the forest a bit and find out. The rest of us waited in the truck. I thought he would just be a minute or so, see if there was a path and then come back. He didn't come back and didn't come back. I worried a bit. So I set my phone alarm for ten minutes and if he didn't come back we would go check on him. I had the kids say a prayer with me. Then after another few minutes Tony came back and banged on the window scaring us half to death. But, he was back! So we explored a bit as a family. There were some steps and a bit of boardwalk., but most of the path had been taken out by felled trees. The forest was truly enchanted. We found a tree to slide down.
The rest of the drive was uneventful. We are grateful for so many fun memories that were made as a family.
