The Question of the Century!
How to be sick and be a mom? Like when you finally stop moving for a second and you just crash and burn? And your kids want you and your husband had surgery recently so he's not 100% (plus he's kind of got what you've got). Today was the day of interupted naps, whiney children (because we have just been meeting their basic needs and that's it), shakey bodies and pounding heads. Only moms can understand what it means to give, give, give even when you're feeling your worst. Luckily, the good days far outweigh the hard days and I would rather keep this job with no sick leave then trade it for anything in the world. And I'm feeling slightly rested enough to catch up on my blog.

As a last resort, you watch kid shows all day long. When it's not something they usually get to do, they think it's great. They stay still and out of trouble (usually) and you can suffer quietly on the couch with them. Be sure and tell them "mommy is sick"...you'd be surprised how much even the little ones understand. Get well quickly and remember: "Mommies are not supposed to get sick."
ReplyDeleteSorry Debbie! I hope our kids did not share while we were visiting. Feel better soon!
