This kid is amazingly strong and so if you ever see the snaps on his onesie undone or his pants left off, you will know why! The little guy has bested me!

The Zoo on a Sunny Day

We went to the zoo with a couple of friends and I learned a few things:
1) Never forget your cell
2) Sloths can't really walk on the ground because they don't have the muscle capacity (at least the breed at our zoo--crazy, huh?)
Here are some pics of the fantastic day!

I'm Hoping My Thumb Gets Greener With Aunt Dorothy's Help

Every spring I learn more about gardening and my love for fresh flowers and vegetables grows along with my garden. I'm still pretty naive so I thought this tutorial from Aunt Dorothy on how to do starts in gallon jugs would be helpful. I've seen her do this before so I was pretty excited to see the tutorial. Here is a picture of my own attempt. I've usually just been successful when I've had plants to start with, so I'm pretty excited to see what happens with my seeds.

My lovely garden is going to have marigolds, daisies, delphinium, alyssum and zinnias (I hope)!

My Boys Keep Growing

Children's milestones are so fun. Ryan is a scooting, stair-climbing machine. As of this weekend, we have put up the baby gate. This boy would be on the stairs 24/7!
From April 2010

This weekend has also been great for potty training! Having Grandma Kate here has helped tremendously. She started reminding Max and then we just naturally worked as a team. It was great to be able to take care of Ryan or have her take care of Ryan if needed while Max was doing his business. He is now in pull-ups AND tells me when he needs to go potty most of the time. I don't know which accomplishment I am more proud of: getting my Masters or having a child almost potty-trained. Both seem equally major to me--no joke!
Check these future black mail photos out!

The boys stayed in their pajamas. All three of them were sick this weekend, but I won't share the horror stories from those adventures. Let's just say, we all had to change clothes often (even me and I wasn't sick) and I did a lot of laundry)
From April 2010

We were grateful to be together as a family on this Easter Sunday and to enjoy each other (even sick). We are blessed to have each other and even more blessed to have a loving Savior who overcame death and gives us mercy each and every day.

Mission Memories

Since I wasn't able to make it to my mission reunion, I've been reminiscing about what a wonderful experience it was. I was able to serve in the Geneva Switzerland mission from June 1998-December 1999. The MTC months were fun because I had a great district. I remember loving the fact that there was an elder from Liverpool and one from Glasgow. They always cracked us up. We learned how to try to speak French. We sang and prayed in French. We went to the temple weekly. We heard inspiring speakers. Then we flew to the mission field. From my very first interview with my mission president, I knew I was in for an incredible experience. President Rex Allen was an inspired man and helped me to feel God's love for me and the French/Swiss people I would be serving. I only have a few pictures scanned into the computer from my mission but I need to do the rest. I lived in Lyon, France for 6 months and then lived in Lausanne, Switzerland for 5 months, St. Genis, France for 4 months and Chambery, France for 2 months. My mission was an amazing experience and it makes me so happy that I was able to spend 18 months just teaching about Jesus Christ and serving people and learning. Ca me manque des fois!

Preparation Day was once a week. My very first one was touring Lyon. Fourviere, a Catholic Basilica is in the background. Amazing!

I will get more pictures on the web! This is only a smidgen of an experience that changed me for the better!

Thank You Easter Bunny

Max had a stroller-by encounter with the Easter Bunny today and then he saw him AGAIN at the YMCA's Easter egg hunt. What a lucky kid. Here are some pics of Max hunting for eggs. I love that there were eggs everywhere and he just kind of went here and there picking up random ones. As soon as he saw the Easter Bunny, he had to follow it around.

The Benefits of Being the Easter Bunny's Helper

I'll admit it. I've opened my Easter present early. I wanted it, needed it and the Easter Bunny said I could.
From March 2010

So I've been listening to it. Hilary Weeks has a beautiful voice and there are so many songs that I already love. My absolute favorite is "Be Still". I found it on youtube. It looks like it was a video made because a family lost a little one so it's absolutely heart wrenching and my heart breaks for that family. The music shares an inspiring message and I hope it's okay that I've linked the video to my blog. The music absolutely portrays the right Easter message.
