A Visit With Santa Claus and Cupcakes

Downtown Renton offers a visit with Santa Claus and they put your photos on facebook so you can have them for free (you had me at free), so we went on Friday night. It was so fun because Max was in awe but completely comfortable getting on Santa's lap and telling him that he wants an aircraft carrier (after seeing Helen's comment, I have to add that Santa asked him if he wanted the USS Enterprise or the USS Nimitz, ha ha. Max's namesake, his Great Grandpa Epperson served on the USS Salt Lake City so if he knew enough yet to choose, I'm sure he would choose that one. Too bad, he only wants a toy one.
Ryan predictably cried until I held him.

It was so much fun walking downtown and racing and seeing the Christmas lights as a family. We stopped by
Common Ground
and had yummy Christmas cupcakes and peppermint hot chocolate. It was a darling little place.

I learned of a friend who made a "Santa book" for her daughter. She has a mini photo album that she keeps all of her Santa photos in. It sits out at Christmas time so they can take a trip down their Santa memory lane. I thought that was such a great idea!
