Max's Appendectomy

On Monday after an othro appointment, I got Max a milkshake.  That night he started throwing up and he had trouble keeping things down all of Tuesday.  His stomach was hurting but at first we thought it was because of throwing up so much.  Wednesday morning he was having a really hard time moving so Tony took him to urgent care.  They diagnosed appendicitis and started him on morphine  Then I got to come and ride with him in the ambulance to the hospital where he would have surgery.

Max's surgery was successful but the doctor let me know that his appendix was gangrenous.  Because of how it loops under the intestine it was kind of cushioned by the intestine and so although the blood supply got cut off when it was inflamed, the symptoms weren't as prominent because of this positioning.

I tried to get a video of Max loopy, but the nurse had so much information to talk about that he was mostly woken up before she left.

Mary Bridge is part of Tacoma General where Max was born so I told him about how Grandpa J worked here and brought in his team to visit us after he was born.
Max was a really good patient.  He was respectful and polite.  I'm glad I got to be the one to be in the hospital with him.
