A Day of Friends and Learning

We spent part of today talking about the legacy of Martin Luther King and we spent most of the day with friends enjoying our membership at the Museum of Flight.

Adding to the list of books I want to read someday.

Klondike Derby 2017

Tony, Nathan and the boys went to Ensign Ranch for the Boy Scout Klondike Derby.

While he was gone Max and I were sick so our plans went by the wayside so we'll just look at pictures from Tony and the boys. :)  Tony was so glad he borrowed snowshoes.

When he came home all Evelyn wanted to do was "nuggle with daddy".

O is for Octopus

Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly

I love the Martin Luther King Jr. Assembly.  I cry every time I hear his , "I Have a Dream" speech which they have played at every MLK assembly at Tiffany Park.  We were asked to do something good for someone on Martin Luther King Jr. day.  I think we can do that.

Evelyn's First School Day away from Mom

Evelyn started joyschool last month but since I was the teacher, I thought it would be fun to take a picture of her in her cute little ladybug backpack.  This is actually after we got home so she's holding the D she painted that was made into a dinosaur.  So cute!

12th Anniversary!

Tony and I had a special date night to celebrate our 12th anniversary on the 7th since the 8th was a Sunday.  On the 8th we had a family birthday party with the kids.  I've decided because there are so many fun celebrations around the same time, that it would be fun to combine them.  So we've combined the buche de noel from Christmas (french) with the day of epiphany and our family birthday.  So we made a buche de noel for our gateau de rois.  Inside was a little lego.  Whoever finds the little lego, is the king or queen for the day.  It was Tony.

Here is the Yule Log or Buche de Noel.

12 Years together.  Sure do love him!

Max's First Basketball Game

Max loves playing basketball.  There are four kids from his school class on the team.  He even made a basket during his first game.  The players wear colored wristbands and there is someone from the other team with the same color so they guard the same colored wristband.  Max definitely had his heart in the game.

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things

My first time at a sing-along but it was the Sound of Music so I had to say yes. Tamara knew Jennica when she still lived in Lacey.  She dressed up as Brown Paper Packages.  Jennica was Silver White Winters that Melt into Spring , I was Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes and Kelsey was girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes.  For the costume contest we introduced ourselves in the opposite order so it fit the song better.  I can't believe I got on stage in front of a theater full of people.  Man, I've changed.  We were the first group that they asked to stay on stage instead of just escorting off (due to crown reaction).  There were two ladies dressed as deers and there was a group with a bee, a dog and brown paper packages.  When the dog bites, when the bee stings...

The hosts had the audience clap for their favorite group of costumes.  We even had people standing up for us.  Wha???  We won dvds, stuffed animals, chocolates and tickets to the next production which is the Pajama Game.

I didn't know what to expect from a sing along but it was so fun!  They gave us different ways to interact and the crowd was so fun.  I would definitely do it again.

January Randoms

We're going to miss Sister Young

But Sister Leavitt gets to stay a little longer. :)

New Year, New Fun

New Year's Eve involved a birthday party, a mom not feeling great, family goal making, 2 boys excited to stay up and watch The Force Awakens and banging on pots and pans.  Family time is always wonderful!

Then we did a 2nd "New Year's Eve" with friends.  Horrible pictures, but it was a lot of fun. :)

New Year's Day was on a Sunday and church was canceled due to icy hills.  Our cute friend TJ was confirmed in his home since church didn't happen.

Every new year we have to be together as a family is perfect to me.
