Cooking Up a Storm!

On the day before Thanksgiving, Max had school but the rest of us didn't.  Jase and Ev spent the day at Dillon's house and Ryan and I started the baking.  Then after dinner the kids and Tony joined in the prep work.  Max even stayed up late and helped me make the cheese balls.  They are a great group of sous chefs!

Max taking a much-needed nap.

Everyone working together to make Aunt Dorothy's yummy rolls.

What We Are Thankful For

Tonight for FHE, Max gave a great lesson on how the Book of Mormon and the Bible both testify of Jesus Christ.  Then Evelyn had a sweet activity.  She had us draw what we are thankful for.  It was fun to see everyone's personalities come out in their drawings.

Salt Water State Park

Today we visited a new-to-us park.  We love the Puget Sound.  First we went to Redondo Beach/boardwalk but there wasn't a lot of parking so we decided to go to Salt Water State Park instead.

Ev drawing her and I

There were two scuba divers coming in and there was a seal behind them.  It was so fun to watch him follow them.

We Learned a New Board Game and Took Silly PIcs of Avi

We learned how to play Dix-it while Max was on a presidency zoom call.  Ev joined team and it was fun to see how the kids interpreted different types of art/pictures for the game.

Happy doggie getting lots of attention

I'm not sure if the doggie is so happy now getting this kind of attention!

No Power Night

Tony is starting to feel better so we had a "no power" night which is one of the things the kids wanted to do this year.  We ate by candle, flashlight and lantern light.  Then we played Christmasopoly, the kids messed around downstairs and then we played UNO.  I love when we can all be together.

Baking Buddies

I got a new mixer and not surprisingly, Ryan wanted to use it before I did.  He and Evelyn made peanut butter cookies  I was catching up on my blog posts and listening to them.  Ryan was a really good teacher.  He was really loving to Ev as they baked together and I was really proud of him.

The Whole Fam Gets Covid

Max woke up on Sunday with a fever and so we had him rapid tested and then started quarantining.  Despite him isolating, I got it next.  So he and I both isolated.  The kids poked their head in once to say hi.  I really missed them  We had meals brought and I got a care package with fuzzy socks. Even though we isolated, Jase and Eve got fevers, then Tony and then Ryan.  Luckily, the kids' symptoms were so minimal.  Tony and I both got (well he still has) body aches.  I'm so glad to be on the other end of it and Tony still has it.  The kids and I are still in the quarantine period but it is nice to feel human again.  I do love having time to read with my kids and help them with school work.  I'm going to soak up the warm, snuggle time now until our quarantine period is over and we go back to school and work.
