Christmas Adventure 2013--Our Drive Home

We decided to change our route home since there was snow and more snow predicted in Eastern Oregon.  We were disappointed because we were looking forward to seeing Darin's fam and Kaytie's fam again as well as my good friend Kim--another Kim who was sick with the flu on our way down.  We also decided to drive through the night since Jason was hating car rides now.  Kate said she could drive with us and fly home that weekend.  So we left on the evening of the 1st and drove through the night.  I really wished we could have stopped in Sacramento but we had to decide between stopping and seeing people or having our toddler asleep most of the drive.  Having him asleep was mucho important to us.  Also, I really needed to get back for Sunday.  We drove to Oregon City and stayed there overnight and left the next morning.  We got home Friday the 3rd.  Having Kate with us was so nice.  We had help with the kids during the drive and also that weekend.  I got to get things put away and feel semi-organized before the busy-ness began again!  It was especially helpful to have her hold Evelyn on Sunday when I was helping with the new schedule at church where we meet with another congregation for one of the hours of church.  Today is January 17th and I just got the last of Christmas put away so it has been a little busy.

These pictures show some cute kids who are happy was over.

We got the exersaucer out for Evelyn but big brother rediscovered it.

This picture is of a cute kid after Grandma left.  He was really sad.  About an hour after he went to bed, we walked by and found that he was crying again.  Poor kid.  But we're pretty glad he loves his grandparents so much.

Christmas Adventure 2013--Happy New Year!

One of my favorite things about this trip to Las Vegas was getting to know my cousin Brenda and her family.  I'm the youngest of all of my cousins and most of them lived all over and we didn't see them often.  Usually when I was with extended family, I was playing with and watching my cousins' kids.  Brenda is my Uncle Leo and Aunt Doris' oldest daughter and she just happens to be Kate's visiting teacher.  It's a small world.  Tony and visited with Brenda and Grant and their two youngest, Preston and Kiffin.  It was so fun to get to know them and see pictures of family.  Brenda even had a picture of my Grandma and Grandpa Heath's engagement photo!.  I would love to be able to see them more often.  They are such a cute family.  On New Year's Eve, Kiffin and Preston baby-sat for us so we could have an adult night out with all of the adults.  I wish I could take them home with me.  Such great kids and great baby-sitters.  We went out to eat and saw Saving Mr. Banks (great movie).  We got home just in time to make noise with Kiffin and Preston while the kids slept.

Christmas Adventure 2013--Hiking to Big Foot

I really like Joshua Trees.

And there's the big foot itself.

Christmas Adventure 2013--More Cousin Drew Fun!

We spent the evening with Drew, Uncle Darin and Uncle Doug.  Drew LOVES Churck E. Cheeses and we wanted to be with him.  The boys loved playing games and feeding the ticket monster.  I felt like we were actually gambling in Vegas. ; )

Christmas Adventure 2013--Kaytie's Family Visits

Tony's cousin Kaytie and her cute family came to visit the day after Christmas.  We roasted marshmallows and enjoyed being outside.  Evelyn was quite the fashionista.

We explored the strip with them.  The decorations at the Bellagio were awesome.

A massive chocolate fountain.

The kids loved riding the tram.

They also loved riding the escalator.  They're pretty easy to please.

We met some fun characters.

Liberace's Rolls Royce.  Slightly flashy.

Hahaha

We waited to see the Bellagio fountains but we got the times wrong so we took the kiddos home to nap.

I love blown glass.

The kids did fun crafts.

We visited the Bass Pro Shop at the Silverton Casino.

They also had an aquarium where they feed Manta Rays and have a mermaid.

I have some videos I need to add.  We had a great time with Kaytie's family.  Their kids are so great!
