T-Ball 2012

Max loved being on "The Hooks". He says baseball is his favorite sport. Here he is posing for the camera.

Several of the moms had small fries and babies in addition to their t-baller so we all just helped each other out by watching kids at the little playground. It really does take a village.

And after the last game we had an end of the season potluck.

Ryan at Bat

Max had his last t-ball practice and the coaches had the parents and siblings play against the kids. Jase was sleeping all wrapped up on me so we just watched but Ryan was a little slugger.
From August 7, 2012

He hit the ball and started running to third! Then we turned him the right way.
Here Coach Kevin is telling him when he's going to start running again.

Home again, home again, jiggity jog.

Ryan loved it so much he wanted to bat during Max's game tonight too. Max ran over to Ryan afterwards and said, "Guess what Ryan! Your hits were the best two hits EVER!". Then he gave him a hug. Loved it!

Our Handsome Man in the Heat

There was a heat advisory in the Seattle area because it was going to get into the high 80's and mid '90's. I kind of chuckle at that but it WAS hot!
Even in a summer outfit he seemed hot.

So we gave him a bath.

Kayaking with Dad

After playing in the water, the boys went kayaking with dad. This gave them a great vantage point to see the Blue Angels fly over Lake Washington.
Max was right behind dad.

And Ryan was right in front.

After the busy day the boys came home and played in the sprinkler. It was sooo hot. Ryan of course made it a car wash.

Primary Play Day

We had an activity for the kids at church. It was water games and it was casual and fun! It was auch a hot perfect day to play in the water.
Water kickball (beach ball, kiddie pools for bases and a slip and slide into home)

There was also beach volleyball in the sprinklers and otter pops to top it off! Fun times!

First Smiles!

Jase smiled off and on but he started smiling regularly at six weeks. I wish I could capture them better on camera because they are the best.

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

I want to remember some sweet moments today. First I did a big nono in the mom world and took the boys to Target to get t-ball coach gifts when I hadn't eaten at all. It was right after Jase had eaten and was happy so off we went at about 1:00pm. We browsed Target and got a few things we needed but the boys were kind of wild. To give Max credit, he kind of listened but Ryan wandered off on me and they wouldn't stick with me. To top it all off Jase started crying and could not be consoled. So I was trying to hurry and buy my stuff so we could get out there and I became that mom, the one who can't handle their kids and loses patience. I grabbed Ryan by the arm and pulled him over roughly because he kept going over to the other cashier's area, and even Max didn't listen at the end when I really needed him to. I left the store crying with frustration as Jase is still crying. In the car, I let the boys know under no uncertain terms how angry I was. Max started to cry and even Ryan started to whimper. They knew how frustrated mom was. I can definitely think of about 20 ways I could have handled things better, but when we got home they were to go directly to their rooms (Ryan in the guest room) for a long, long time out. So the part I WANT to remember was when Max called out to me, "Mom, I said a prayer and asked Heavenly Father to forgive me for not making good choices". That melted my heart. I also needed to apologize for not taking care of myself so that I had so little patience. I want to look at the bright side of today and remember that my little 5 year old reminded me that we can ask for forgiveness and move on.
