Becky's Wedding

Weddings always make me a little teary but this did a little bit more just because of the backstory of how Becky and Ben came to be a couple. The wedding was beautiful and we're so glad we got to share this day with them.

Shortly after this Ryan told me he had to go potty and immediately dropped his drawers by a tree. Luckily, Tony helped me by taking him quickly inside the hotel to go potty. But aside from that tiny incident, the boys were able to play, we were able to visit to our hearts' content and enjoy the love of this new family. Becky was radiant and smiling the whole day. It was perfect.

The Volcano that Erupted

This weekend was a lot of fun! We got to celebrate the wedding of our favorite photographer who means much much more to us because she's our cousin/friend!
We decided to make an adventure out of the drive to Oregon by stopping at Mt. St. Helens. When it erupted, I had just turned 3 and lived in St. Helens, OR. I don't remember it of course but my family told me they were at church and the sky was dark from all of the ash. It happened on May 18th and I always remember that the eruption happened on Grandpa Bob's birthday.

The Awesome Baby Shower

I'm having one of those moments where I just feel so grateful. I have a Father in Heaven that has blessed me with great friends. We had a fun baby shower/girl's night to celebrate our upcoming blessing. It was a wine and cheese party sans wine of course! ; )
I didn't get pictures of the spread until midway through but these fruits with sorbet in them were the BEST!

I want to post so many pics because everyone gave such cute things, clothes, burp cloths, toys, diapers but really, I should post those pics when there's a cute little boy who is using them. This pic is going up because it was genius and I want to file the idea away. My cute friends gave me a stroller fund because I'm hoping to get a double jogging stroller. So cute!

Each friend that came wrote down a "wish" for me. I just read through them and they totally brought tears to my eyes.

Since this is the only journaling I do these days, I have to be honest and say that several months ago, I had one of those hormonal moments where I was feeling inadequate, insecure, not worth anything to anybody. It wasn't but a few days but it took some prayer, study and talking with good friends to remember what is important and why I was feeling that way. I look back and feel ridiculous that I ever felt that way. There are such wonderful people who bless our family with the connection that we have. I think it is sweet that my friends wanted to get together and celebrate our little guy. I only hope that I can be as good of friend to others.

Super Heros

I've had every intention of making my boys super hero cape shirts. I even thought about doing it last Christmas, but, alas, I did not. Lucky for my boys, their friends have cool moms ; ) Max and Ryan went to a Super Why birthday party this week and came home with these awesome cape shirts. Ryan and I are trying to figure out how to not dip the cape into the toilet when he goes potty (it's happened twice now), but the boys are having so much fun. I've washed them twice and they've worn them three days in a row!

Ryan and the Otolaryngologist

When a friend mentions Ryan and his "darth vader breathing", you know something's wrong. Well, actually, it started back when Ryan was a snoring baby. Then Tony saw him have a couple of apnea episodes when he went to check on him. Since I have sleep apnea, I'm hoping we can help Ryan now so he doesn't get it. We were able to meet with the Otolaryngologist today (still don't know how to pronounce it). Ryan's pediatrician had said he had HUGE tonsils and made a referral. The ENT (as I like to call him because it's EASIER) said that his tonsils are even touching. We were able to get him scheduled for a Tonsilectomy and Adenoidectomy on May 29th (the day after his 3rd birthday--Happy Birthday, Ryan)! It's not an emergent situation but they're the worst tonsils the ENT has seen in a long time and with the baby coming, it just seems easier to get it done now with only one other child to have to worry about finding care for. We're also going to have them draw blood to see if he has allergies (he's congested a lot which could be the englarged Adenoids or it could be that and allergies--we'll see). So, my baby's going to have surgery and I'm trying to be okay with it. Thankfully, it's a simple day surgery, I know mama's who have had to see their babies go trough a lot worse, but I will be glad when he comes out of the Anesthesia. Hopefully there will be no more darth vader breathing!

Mother's Day 2012

Mother's Day was fun! Max couldn't wait for me to open the surprise he made me at preschool. It's a drawing he made of me that was put inside a plastic trivet.

I didn't have to make any meals and I was so worn out after church (helping with primary project stations) that I napped while Tony prepared dinner. I felt very loved! :)

Lakemont Community Park

We headed out to Coal Creek Park Trail but I forgot the directions and my GPS signal faded with the trees so we ended up playing and picnicking at a beautiful park in Bellevue.
My friend took this shot of me at 36 weeks preggo. As much as I try not to think too much about it, there is a part of me that thinks the 3rd time around I won't have to be 10 days plus late, right? Wishful thinking.
