Another Gorgeous Day at the Park!

We visit the park and ride our bikes a lot, but I don't take pictures every time.  This time, I did and it was fun to capture these little glimpses into these happy faces.

We rode bikes and stopped to throw rocks.

And rested.  So sleepy.

Visiting Fort Casey and Admirality Head Lighthouse

Yesterday, we drove up to Marysville to visit Tony's cousin Ben and his wife Kara.  We got to see their cute place and then we all piled in for an adventure.  We drove over Deception Pass Bridge to Whidbey Island.

We visited Fort Casey where the boys had fun exploring the cannons and climbing up to the observation towers.

After finding these lookouts, we went down to the beach and looked where we'd been.

It was a gorgeous day to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

After that we went over to see the Admiralty Head Lighthouse

It was a fun day to have a spontaneous adventure.  Poor Jason threw up in the car seat on the way back, but we still had a good time.

Good Friends!

There is nothing like a visit from a dear friend!  I've been lucky because last Sunday I got a visit from Jenn who was traveling back from a cousin's wedding.  Today, I got a visit from Kim Perry who is an EFY Session Director with her husband.  I love these girls and it is way too long in between visits.  I neglected to take pictures because we were so busy catching up, so I stole some off their FB pages. :)  Jenn and I were inseparable in high school.

Kim and I have known each other since childhood.  She and I were "California Girls" together, swam, wrestled, made up game shows and she is one of the only people who knew about my most embarrassing moment back in the day when it happened.

And now flashback pic

I know some really amazing women!  Lucky for me, I'm going to see Kim and Josh again next Saturday after EFY.  Hopefully, we'll stop chatting enough to take at least one pic! :)

Fourth of July 2013

What a fun day!  It started out with our church's 4th of July Pancake breakfast and flag raising ceremony.  This year, I was one of the ones in charge of this event and we wanted it to be a lot of fun for all ages.  It was a lot of work and I amazed at how Heavenly Father blessed us with people who willingly helped and shared their talents.  Everyone seemed to have a really good time!  There's nothing like planning breakfast for 250 people to make your head spin, so I feel really blessed that it did go so well.  We had a bike (scooter, stroller, roller blade) decorating station for kids which also included stuff to make tambourines if they didn't bring a bike.  We had coloring pages and trivia cards on the tables so people could test their U.S. knowledge while they were visiting with new and old friends.  After breakfast, we had the scouts do the flag raising and a gentlemen played "To the Colors" on the bugle.  A brother who served in the Navy spoke briefly and we sang a few songs.  There is nothing like being around military servicemen and their wives on the 4th of July.  Makes me tear up every time.  After that, the kids did the bike parade.  So much fun.  To top it all off, there was a surprise for us because a friend of ours who happens to love the 4th of July happened to be visiting (her brother was the one who spoke) so we got to spend the morning with her.  I hardly took any pictures because I was too busy helping or chatting but, here are a few.

After the breakfast, it was important to nap. :)  Then we enjoyed dinner and fireworks with friends.  Our church parking lot overlooks Lake Washington so we went there to enjoy the light show.  It was fun and the kids got to ride around again and play with glow sticks while we got to chat with friends while we waited for the fireworks to begin.  What a great day!

Baby Girl

I scanned some ultrasounds and even though most of them aren't that good, I wanted to have them available for Baby Girl in the future.  Today I finally got a good profile pic.  Here is Baby Girl at 8 weeks, just a blur on the screen.

Here is Baby Girl at 20 weeks when we found out she was a girl!
This is at the same ultrasound but this is her face.  The tech could see most of her features but she's squished up against the placenta a lot.  And yes, she looks like an alien.  A cute alien ; )

The doctor wasn't able to see everything she needed to see.  My placenta is in the front, baby girl moves a LOT and she's always switching position, from ultrasound to ultrasound.  So we had to go in for another one and then even another one at a specialty clinic since they have better equipment.  This one showed that everything looks great (got to see all the heart and the nose and lips which they hadn't before).  However, she's little.  She measured at the 11th percentile.  Since this is an office where they specialize in high-risk pregnancies, they gave me all kinds of worse case scenarios.  My doctor was able to reassure me for the most part but today was the best reassurance of all.  I had another ultrasound and she measured in the 40th percentile and her amniotic fluid is normal.  I'm going to have another ultrasound in a month just to check again, but I am so thankful to Heavenly Father.  There was fear that this baby may need to be delivered early.  Right now everything looks really good.  I hope and pray that this continues to be the case because as hot, uncomfortable and swollen as I feel, I want this baby  to have the healthiest start possible.

Here is a picture of her beautiful head in profile (finally) 32 weeks

What a blessing!

Slippin' and Slidin'

We've been having fun riding bikes and playing with friends.  We've had several days of slip and slide fun.

On Saturday night we watched our friends' kids and played in the water, threw water balloons, had a scooter ride, watched a movie and played Star Wars (of course).  The babies crawled (or walked with my help), played in the water and made me wonder how I'm going to handle 2 babies ; )
